U.S. Virgin IslandsRegistration Information for U.S. Virgin IslandsTo register to vote in the US Virgin Islands you can go in person to a local elections office. You must be a resident of the precinct you wish to vote in for at least 90 days. The required identification needed to register to vote are from any of the following: a valid ID, Military Discharge Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, or a U.S. Passport. Polling hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. You are eligible to vote in the US Virgin Islands if you are a U.S. citizen, a resident of the Virgin Islands, and at least 18 years old. You are not eligible to vote in the U.S. Virgin Islands if you have been declared mentally incompetent by a court, are registered in another state, or if you are on parole for a felony conviction, or convicted of a felony.
You may vote in the form of an absentee ballot if you meet one of the following: You are a member of the Armed Forces and spouse or dependent, a student residing outside of The US Virgin Islands, an officer or employee of the Government of the Virgin Islands, or the U.S., physically impaired or in a healthcare facility, detained in jail awaiting action by trial, or in prison for a conviction other than a felony, or due to religious grounds. The required identification needed to vote in person are any of the following: A valid ID, a valid U.S. passport, copy of Birth Certificate, Military Discharge Certificate, or a copy of a Naturalization Document. |
