TexasRegistration Information for TexasYou can register to vote or update your registration information by mail or in person at your elections office. The polling places are open from 7am to 7pm on Election Day. Generally, early voting in person begins 17 days before Election Day and ends on the 4th day before Election Day. You are eligible to vote in Texas if you: are a U.S citizen, resident of Texas, or 18 years old by Election Day. Keep in mind that you can preregister to vote in Texas as of 2 months prior to your 18th birthday. You must provide your Texas driver’s license or last four digits of your SSN to register to vote.
What else you need to know: To vote by absentee ballot in Texas you must be a registered voter and meet one of the following conditions: • You are away from your county on Election Day and during early in-person voting • You are sick or disabled • You are 65 years of age or older on Election Day • You are confined in jail, but eligible to vote |
